EAT and WBCSD Sciences-to-Solutions Dialogues

  • Inform FReSH stakeholders, including business and policy entities, to influence food system transformation. Additionally, enhance scientific understanding by identifying research gaps through insights into business and policy trends, fostering high-level CEO and policy public understanding of transformative challenges, gaining endorsement for transformational goals and EAT Lancet Science targets, and securing recognition and support across diverse stakeholders for proposed initiatives and action plans.

  • The EAT Foundation and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) through FResh (Food Reform for Sustainability and Health), co-designed and curated with Convene a series of three Science-to-Solutions Dialogues.

    • The first dialogue, titled “Putting Food in Food” addressed (1) Improving the nutritional content and environmental sustainability of processed food, (2) Determining how processing and packaging can avoid food waste and (3) Achieving consumer journey buy-in.

    • Dialogue two, “People, Planet, Protein - What’s the Plan?” dove into questions around buy-in and (1) Inspiring consumers to shift to more sustainable and healthful protein sources, and (2) Ensuring a shift to more sustainable livestock production systems.

    • The third dialogue, “Everyone Eating Well within Environmental Limits,” aimed at tackling the knotty challenge of how to feed almost 10 billion people with sustainable and healthy diets.

  • Areas of impact: Science to Policy to Society interfaces; Water, land and food systems transformation.
