Convene Summer Series, Part 1

Who is a Convener and what does it mean to Convene?
Here is how Amanda Harding answered the opening question of our First Half of 2021 Reflections. Read the transcription below and follow us for weekly episodes of the Convene Summer Series!

"First of all you need a Convener to Convene. To be a Convener, you need to have that empathy, that understanding, that ability to listen to others together. To be able to hear their difference, to hear where they align, where they want to go - align on the destination and, through that, talk about the pathways and the solutions to be able to come there. And so the action of Convening is all of that: it is Convening towards a destination and, from that, coming up with the pathways for success, for arrival.
And of course, by the very nature of Convening, it means you are Convening a diverse group of actors, of individuals, of people: real people, not just stakeholders. But the one thing they always have in common is they share a common problem, a common challenge".
